From 2002 to 2007, La Métive tried to gathered the Creuse’s territory by organizing artists residencies and meetings with the public through all the department.
La Métive is implanted in Moutier-d’Ahun since 2007, a rural village in the center of Creuse situated at 25 km between Guéret and Aubusson, known for the beauty of its landscapes, its medieval patrimony and its intensive art and cultural activity.
In 2012, with the support of local collectivities, the mill that was hosting the artists’ activities was fully renovated.
Its multidisciplinary side and its implantation in a rural area (not in a town of the department), make of La Métive an uncommon and complementary actor for all the infrastructures of the department.
Since 22 September 2012, La Métive is based in the abbey’s mill of Moutier-d’Ahun. There are in total 400m2 of workspace : dance room, rehearsal room, workshops…
